CONSTRUCTED DURING THE MAYORALTY OF WYLLIAM MARTIN IN 1584, THE SPANISH ARCH IS NOW GALWAY’S MOST ICONIC LANDMARK. ORIGINALLY HAVING 4 ARCHWAYS, IT WAS USED AS A TOLL POINT THROUGH WHICH SPANISH MERCHANTS WOULD PASS TO PAY TAX ON GOODS SUCH AS WINE AND IRON THAT CAME INTO THE CITY.

CLOON KEEN ATELIER’S SPANISH ARCH CANDLE CAPTURES THE INTOXICATING SCENT OF THE BITTER ORANGE TREES IN BLOOM - A SCENT FAMILIAR TO THE SPANISH MERCHANT SAILORS WHO EMBARKED ON THE JOURNEY TO GALWAY.

SPANISH ARCH EVOKES THE SPANISH IDYLL OF WARM AIR HEAVY WITH THE SCENT OF BLOSSOMS. CRUNCHY GREEN STEMS PROVIDE A CRISP FRESHNESS WHILE A HINT OF ROSE IN FULL BLOOM ADDS RICHNESS TO THIS OPULENT COMPOSITION.

THICKLY RIMMED MOUTH-BLOWN GLASS IS FINISHED WITH A HAND-APPLIED SILVER OPAQUE FINISH FOR A BEAUTIFUL GLOW WHEN LIT.
